In the college I go to, Muslim women get secular educations and while they cover their hair, they are allowed to show their faces.
My understading is in Beit Shemesh, Israel; a jewish burka cult exists where they aren't allowed to show their faces and although rumor has it alot of Ballei Tsheuvot are involved, it seems to me a safe assumption that they minimize secular studies.
What we have here folks, is a case of Islam acting in a saner manner than Judaism.
Now, hold your horses. If the muslim women Americanize too much, they do risk getting "honor" killed whereas if the jewish burka cultists leave their sect they merely risk isolation.
