Well you're probably too young to remember the energy crunch of the late 1970's but back then prices for everything from gas to electricity all skyrocketed. Guess what? They started making high efficiency furnaces. Suddenly smaller cars with better gas mileage appeared. Same thing will happen. Industry will adapt and produce stuff to meet the new reality and maybe people will waste less.

Secondly, for the federal government to prohibit the incandescent lightbulb is an INSANE overeach.
Also, Many Eco-friendly bulbs have toxic chemicals inside them. They ain't people-friendly.
You can reduce waste whill still using the incandescent bulb.
