Canada has far more regulations in place when it comes to banking, loans, etc. so we escaped the worst of the meltdown because we didn't have any major failures. Good for us. When America falls, we stumble. That's the good part.
The bad part is that when America leaps for the stars, we hop up and down pathetically on one foot because the same regulation that saved us also holds us back when things go well.
