My Blog Has Evolved

Thoughts of a Secular Jew started out as a blog to bash orthodox judaism because meandering in it and out of it proved to be a bad experience. When someone from the secular world gets mixed in with the orthodox jews, it can induce a kind of multi personality disorder because orthodox judaism teaches that God is against lots of things that in the secular world would be ok.

The secular jew is then left with three choices

- either to live with multiple personalities and have an occassional cheeseburger while going to shul and doing some religious stuff; and live with the conflicting views.

- to give up freedoms completely and become orthodox.

- come to the ultimate conclusion that it's all bull shit and walk away entirely.

A while back, I picked choice 3. I am indeed an atheist. I don't believe in God, though I also do believe that it's impossible to know for sure until you die. I also believe that I'm not a bad person so I got nothing to worry about when it comes. I don't believe that God is going to throw people into the pit for cheeseburgers, pork, or computer games on Saturday.

Eventually I started blogging on political stuff since I am secular; and conservative in American politics, and my blog isn't just going to be orthodox bashing anymore even though once in a while there will be a post for it.

So I took down the Galileo quote from the masthead of my blog, “I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.”

Orthodox Judaism demands the foregoing of their use, and is an industry like any other. Rabbis take the money of the faithful, and do ok economically, and volah, prayers get answered. When the prayers of the faithful don't get answered, then it's "you have to wait," or "you can't test God" or "it's not part of the plan," or "you need to do teshuva." It's a scam.

I've done lots of orthodox bashing in the past and will continue to do so in the future, but also in the future, I am going to be apart of the debate on political issues as well as I have already been in recent weeks.

Is is possible that you dislike Orthodox Judaism because you like jerking off?
