Illinois Prison Top Contender To House Gitmo Detainees, Official Says

I'm not an expert, but I'm not sure how international terrorists can be held in civilian prisons or civilian courts in an effective manner. I could be wrong, but it would seem that civilian authorities and trial people could be threatened more easily than military personnel.

The argument cuts both ways.

Bush II justified holding them without recourse to the Geneva convention because they weren't conventional soldiers.

Now because they're not convential soldiers Obama can put them in a civilian prison!
