Ding Dong The Socialist Bitch Is Gone

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/white-house/dunn-leaving-white-house-pfeif.html

Funny how the Democrats don't got the balls to call their health care reform: socialist health insurance. Instead they call it the "public option." Nancy Pelosi calls it the "consumer option." If anything the Democrats should stop calling themselves Democrats because they were against Bush spreading democracy to Iraq.

The 'public option' ain't socialised medicine. Conservatives don't even know what socialised medicine is. They don't even know what 'socialism' is.

Socialism is when the people (i.e. the state) own the means of production which, in health care, are the hospitals, doctors and nurses.

In that respect, under even the loosest definition of 'socialism', the UK is one of the few countries with 'socialised' medicine (because the government owns the hospital and employs the doctors.)

What we have with the public option is 'government funded' health care - provided by private businesses. It's a different animal entirely.

And as for the right wing claiming that it means 'rationed' health care - so far they're the only ones trying to 'ration' government funded care, by banning abortions.

You mean to say that government insurance is not socialist insurance? O.O Sounds like a shaky argument if you ask me.

It is still socialism if it is in a service industry rather than a manufacturing industry and still owned by the government.

Banning abortions has nothing to do with rationing. It has everything to do with saving lives.

Health care in the UK is not without problems. http://www.trcb.com/health-and-fitness/healthcare-systems/englands-health-care-system-2505.htm For starters. If I had the patience I can pull up more links. An interested reader can search google him or herself.

Thank you for posting Roland.
