Shabbat
I am now committing the terrible horrible avayrah of using my computer on Shabbat (sarcasm). * gasp * God is never going to forgive me for resting in my own way on the rest day and for not following what the non-uptight orthodox rabbis say (sarcasm).
The big flaw in orthodox shabbat thought is that being forced to not do anything one wants is just as unpleasant as being overworked.

Ezzie And Halacha
It looks like religious blogger Ezzie (http://serandez.blogspot.com/), who never really cared to post on my blog apparently, is going to be giving a speech on Shabbat, about * drum roll * the ECONOMICS of the religious community. From my yeshiva experience and my experience with religious jews on shabbat talking about anything economic is absolutely taboo.
Now, I don't follow this stuff but it could be that on the 8th of August, Shabbat is over by 5 pm. If not then Ezzie is acting like a reform jew of sorts.

Murder in Israel
Over the weekend, a hate crime occurred in Israel in which 2 homosexual kids were killed and 13 other homosexuals were wounded. While the background of the killer isn't being known, with all the rioting violence from a certain community in Israel, one can take a guess.
Homosexuality is wrong. So is murder. People who are emotionally confused and not bothering anyone need help to realize the error of this kind of lifestyle in a manner that is professional.
