The Mainstreaming of Chabad Messianism

Aish Hatorah in this article gives tacit approval to Chabad http://www.aish.com/spirituality/odysseys/Kaddish_with_Oprah.asp.

Of course no condemnation of Chabad's messianism.

OMG E-MAN (markset565.blogspot.com/) IS A TOTAL WUS

Ok so what happens was I leave a post on E-man's blog markset565.blogspot.com to come read my blog, and then this guy and a supporter of his says that my blog is without merit, so I bring up the Torah's talking donkey, and the pussy E-man erased all the comments and said to "be respectful" i.e. bringing up the Torah's absurdities is disallowed.

http://markset565.blogspot.com/2009/05/shavuous-why-shavuous-is-most-important.html#comments.

DK Putz Moment

On his blog http://www.kvetcher.net/ DK wrote that (to paraphrase) if the shit hits the fan so badly in Israel that they have to come to the United States, that they should become refugees.

I say that Israeli citizens should automatically be granted American citizenship in the event the shit hit the fan enough over there (except for the Israelis who don't work for religious reasons, this means you charedim XD ).

This guy Steve wrote "Do we as American Jews seek to bump the Israelis to the front of the line - ahead of the Koreans and Chinese that have been waiting 20 years to get in to the USA?"

Well the difference is noone is threatening to nuke China or South Korea, (yet with regard to S. Korea; if the shit hit the fan bad enough there too, i'd say let the South Koreans have American citizenship also since they're a modern democratic country.)

The Nonsensicalness of the "Oral Law"

One of the reasons among others why I don't take orthodox judaism seriously is its insistance that its oral tradition is equally reliable to its written tradition. You see, only with goyem, oral traditions aren't reliable, but human nature don't apply to orthodox jews (sarcasm).

Now, essentially, I highly doubt that there's any mention of an oral law in a document before the mishna (200 AD). In virtue of an oral law being oral, there is no physical proof of an oral law. This strikes me as a cause for concern because when one claims that there's an oral law, one can put anything in there and say that it's from God.

The only proofs available for the alleged oral law is "indications" from the written Torah itself, but this essentially uses a document of which there is no proof to try to establish something that there is no proof of.

Basically some of the "biggest proofs" I can remember is that some definitions of words were lost, and that one needs to know the vowels and accentuations of the Torah's words.

Is the fact that a language requires you to know the definition of words proof of a divine oral law? I think not and that such an assertion is absurd. Is the fact that Hebrew requires you to know the vowels of words proof that a divine oral law was given? Again, this is also absurd.

As far as accentuations go, Torah readings were started by Ezra and then again in 70 AD. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torah_reading) Hardly proof of an oral law from Mount Saini itself.

There is one thing where instructions on how to ritually slaughter an animal are not mentioned in the Torah (as far as I've been told), and in the written Torah, God commanded the Israelites to slaughter animals in a certain way.

Ok, so if you can establish that extra information was given to Moses on Mount Saini about one particular issue (big if, the laws of slaughter could have been made up too), it does not establish that extra info was given to Moses (a whole oral law) on every particular issue. If the giving of the Torah DID indeed happen, I don't think it's unreasonable for God to have told Moses some extra stuff.

As far as the other alleged indications of an oral law goes, there is this web page www.aishdas.org/student/oral.htm where they are listed.

The problem with those is that two things, on some points it seems to assume that the existence of Case Law is equivalent to a divine oral law given to Moses. This is absurd.

The other problem is that if there is both a possible natural explanation of something (one that does not require an oral law) and a supernatural explanation of something (one that requires an oral law), the alleged indications automatically jumps the gun into the supernatural explanation despite the existence of a possible NATURAL explanation. Basically all the alleged indications do this.

In light of this blog post, read the "proofs or the oral law" page yourself, and come to your own informed conclusion.

HASIDISM

Hasidism is some crackpot shit.

There's Chabad who diverged from Judaism's premise that the messiah did NOT come yet.

And there's Satmar who thinks that any idea that does not come from ultraorthodoxy is automatically heretical for a Jew to accept. This means any idea.

How is Supernatural Similar To Orthodox Judaism

In the Supernatural series the demons want to bring Armageddon to Earth, and the angels want to simply let it happen to bring paradise on earth. Problem is, the apocalypse has gotta come first. The angels are simply being misguided to the point of being bad guys with a smiley face.

Similarly, orthodox rabbis wield near absolute power in orthodox judaism, with a smiley face.

Disagree with the rabbis at your own risk.

DK Warns People About Chabad

DK, the editor of the blog kvetcher.net, the guy who turned into a big crybaby that I called Segal for what he was, has wrote on his blog in his most recent post at the time of this writing, "But we can warn others [about Chabad]. We can let other parents know what their children will face if they become involved with the ultra-Orthodox."

The thing is, DK was crying that I bashed Segal just after he died (I was bashing him equally while he was still alive). The reason was Segal was lying about the nature of Chabad with regard to its messianism. However DK was mad that I wouldn't show more sympathy because Segal was "empathetic" to other views.

The problem is, an empathetic con artist is just an empathetic con artist. Segal was trying to say that Chabad has no messianism and this is false; and on my blog, I was warning people about Chabad, my way.

How To Stop Assimilation

The Jewish People are MORONS. Both the orthodox sector and the liberal sector. They cry about stopping assimilation, and neither the orthodox nor the liberals have the answer to stop it.

People are running from orthodox society because it's too damn strict. I don't claim to have much experience with liberal jewish society but I imagine people are leaving liberal Jewish society due to a general lack of interest.

The way I see it- the orthodox answer to stopping assimilation is by getting stricter. Just facking genius. The liberal answer to stopping assimilation in my mind appears to be spending millions of dollars on organizations that talk about stopping assimilation.

Both answers are wrong. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, Bernie Madoff didn't do a good enough job bankrupting Jewish organizations out of existence; organizations that are in my mind both redundant and antiquated reflecting an early-mid 20th century paradigm.

The answer lies in basic social skills- if you are a person who is enjoyable to be around, people are going to want to be around you. If you are not enjoyable, people are going to run run run regardless of how much you claim to hold the truth.

I can say, that if I didn't have such a bad experience with orthodox analness on rules, as well as some other bad experiences with the orthodox (I'd rather not say the nature of them because it's personal), then this blog would have just been a friendly ask-questions-and-seek-answers blog as opposed to being an outright blog of dissent.

In my mind something as simple a simple synagogue bowling trip or singles event *gasp * can do a lot more to stop assimilation and save the Jewish people from facking breaking apart than halacha and spending millions of dollars on www.justanotherbullshitredundantorganizatgion.jorg

In place of jewish organizations, the jewish people needs to be current-events/history literate on an individual level. On top of that, the challenge for the Jewish establishment in the twenty first century is to convey to the Jewish public that one can still be serious about religion, and still have a good time. The Jewish establishment also needs to convey why there's a need for religion at all, something orthodox judaism has utterly failed to do for me.

I'm writing from the perspective of one who is not religious, I dislike religion because I feel it stifles free thought (oh and orthodox judaism is too strict); I am not spiritual, I think spirituality is people thinking too much. For example, I don't need a reason for my existence beyond the fact that my parents copulated. Humanity's mental abilities come from evolution, not because we have some "special purpose." What I do consider myself is philosophical, I always enjoy a good read and a good discussion on metaphysics.

I personally couldn't care less if the Jewish people survives in name, only as individuals because I don't wish anyone bad. I basically prescribed what I feel the Jewish establishment needs to do to keep the Jewish people from falling apart, however I doubt they will wisen up. The orthodox will continue to get stricter and the liberals will continue to spend millions of dollars on crap.

This Little Garnel

This little Garnel changed his name and went to the Shul.
This little Garnel changed his name and went to the brothel.
This little Garnel changed his name and went to the library.
Jewish Philosopher caught Garnel at the brothel and chased Garnel all the way home.

Moving On

I think i've so eloquently and concisely and insightfully and incitefully made my point about the pathological liar Segal, it's time to move on.

How about a lil philosophy?

Thing is, I tend to have multiple personalities when it comes to believing in God, (only on that issue alone, trust me XD ) Sometimes I think he's there, sometimes I think he's not, sometimes I think he's there and don't give a darn. Sometimes I don't give a darn, and even when I do give a darn and tilt a lil towards theism I still call myself an atheist and secular with the intent of denouncing fundamentalism.

Here is a twist on the cosmological argument, which I am not really arguing for, but rather bringing up for the sake of discussion.

It goes like this-

Everything exists in something, but it is impossible for the process of everything existing in something to go on to infinity because what would the whole of the parts subsist in?

It would be impossible to add to the whole an overall realm of existence that does in fact take up space (exist) because it would also have to exist (take up space) in something as per the first clause of this argument. Something with contradictory qualities (early and late, squarish and circlish) can't exist.

Thus, the only thing that can be done is to say that the overall sum of existence has to exist in something that does not take up space, and this (to quote Saint Thomas Aquinas' Suma Theologica) all men understand to be God.

Unlike the ordinary cosmological argument which can be trashed by saying that even if it does establish the necessity of a first cause, it can still be a natural process and not a divine driven one; this version seems tougher to attack in the same way because it would appear that existing in something that does not take up space is supernatural (not in a fiction ghost demons or whatever kind of sense but rather in a not ordinary in the laws of nature kind of sense) yet also appears as a logical necessity.

Feel free to post comments for and against this twist of the cosmological argument.

DK

DK, the editor of the Kvetcher.net blog has recently banned me from his blog over satirizing the lying kiruvnic Segal after he passed away, even though DK is normally very critical of kiruv.

As a result, DK banned me from his blog, and then what does DK do next? DK does satire of his own! * gasp * That's right, in his most recent post at the time of this writing, DK does a satire piece of his own on the religious community titled Helping the Haredi Health Minister Out you can go to kvetcher.net for the post content.

In case people think that I just jump on the guy after he died, I was equally rough with him while he was still alive, because he was a lying kiruvnic.

It's a shame DK had to throw such a shit fit over my own satire because he often has good points and I'd like to have him in my blogroll. Although, in my own opinion my satire is better than his. XD

Orthodox Judaism in a Nutshell - Response to Jewish Philosopher's Blog

Founder: Who da fack knows, Orthodox Judaism focuses on hagiography not history.

Sacred Text: Torah & Talmud

Basic Beliefs: Modernity is evil. Listen to rabbis or burn in hell.

Basic attraction: Negative attraction. Everyone wants to get da fack out. Orthodox Judaism's Kiruv rates can't keep up with its off-the-derech rates.

Basic Proof: None. Nada. Zero.

Debunked: my own blog, failedmessiah.com, and talkreason.org are good places to start.

AISH SUKKOT BAILOUT PROGRAM FAILS AGAIN

Once again, with regard to Segal, Aish's promise that observing the Sukkot holiday as a bailout for Jews, fails again. I can just imagine the Aish propaganda machine saying stuff like, "naaa we don't need a theory to achieve the same results like, every time, with *gasp* all variables being equal, that kind of stuff is for evil heretics like SJ."
